Rain
I like it when the cold pricks my bones I like it when the raindrop splatters against the window Because each prick of cold and each splatter on my window Adds a small bit to a fantasy of mine. A fantasy of a kingdom A kingdom of mist, cold, rain, fog, dust and clouds A place of dull colour and tragic beauty A place, cloud-hidden and buried within the mist It takes a soul to see the beauty of a winter rain To notice colour in its faintest form To see the droplets of rain as the shards of a careful masterpiece To feel every stab of the cold against your bone The rain is nature's emotion The drops of watering tears The rage of merciless wind The love of the caressing mist
