Questions In The Valley
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. Why then do we shiver with empty bellies? Are the grasses in His vineyard withered and gone? Does He still walk beside us through the valley of shadows? Casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you. Why then do the burdens grow heavier in our arms? Do prayers fall like whispers into a deaf wind? Do tears vanish before they reach His ears? He leads me beside still waters, He restores my soul. Why then do rivers run dry in the lands of the faithful? Why does hope wither in the mouths of the hungry? Why do the meek still tremble in empty streets? Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I shall fear no evil. Why then does darkness linger long after the sun rises? Why do shadows cling, unbroken, around the innocent? Do angels hide when we call their names? Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all my days. Why then do sorrow and despair trail faster than joy? Why do songs of praise choke on cracked lips? Is faith enough when stomachs cry louder than prayers? ©Shalom Lights
