Purple Journal
I kept my life in a purple journal. Wrote my days down with black ink- Jagged scraw across pristine lines. I kept my thoughts in a purple journal. Shamed myself for their loops and spirals- How they tarnished the pages simply by existing. I kept my depression in a purple journal. And when it got to be too much, I locked it away. Tossed the key overboard To the rough waters of the sea And never spoke of it again. Never spoke again. Never wrote again. Never lived again.
