purple girl broke my heart
The sky was draped in shades of violet light, Where blossoms bloomed in fields of softest hue. She walked within that world so strange and bright, And every dream I held was laced with you. Her eyes were pools of deep and dusty plum, She promised love beneath the lavender sun. I waited for the joy that could not come, The race was over ere it had begun. She took my hand inside that purple haze, And whispered words that turned to winter snow. I lost my heart within that velvet maze, With nowhere left for broken souls to go. The world of color faded into gray, As she and all her petals turned away.
