Pure as the driven snow
I’ve been in enough kitchens at 4 a.m. to understand the slow damage that blinds you. I have sat, listening to the birds, as light streams through dust shimmering in the air. As I grow older, I regret time wasted, wages gone, the same conversations behind closed blinds. Maybe I am being pompous, but hindsight is a cruel thing.
