Pull Me Out
I just want to run Like the little girl in me did so very long ago Fly the kites my father and I shared The sunsets that made me dream Picture stories so thoughtfully and wonderfully So very long ago Approching thirteen years long ago Here I am, a fresh adult But my little girl inside grew up so fast She didn't know there was time then Now her heart races when time runs slow The panic of tomorrow washes over her Like the pounding of thunder, Her head pulses a painful beat "Just keep going" she says But the little girl wallows Not because it's all so fast But because there's no time to enjoy No reflections No real smiles No heart singing moments where the world is her smile All I want is to run free Cherish kites with my father Swim through waters without drowning Breathe without the blanket of misery So long ago She was five Now I'm 18 I hope I won't die
