PROMISES MADE OF LIES
Promises made of lies, a painful charade, Words that deceive, a cruel masquerade. In the depths of deceit, trust fades away, Leaving behind wounds that won't easily sway. With honeyed tongues, they whisper sweet deceit, Painting illusions, making falsehoods discreet. But truth will prevail, it cannot be concealed, For lies, like a fragile web, are easily revealed. Promises made of lies, like a fragile glass, Shattering hopes, leaving hearts to amass, Betrayal's bitter taste, a lingering sting, In the wake of deceit, broken hearts sing. Yet amidst the wreckage, strength will be found, Rising from ashes, with courage unbound. For promises made of lies may bruise and scar, But they cannot extinguish the light from afar. So let us rise above the web of deception, Embrace the truth, break free from misconception. For in honesty's embrace, we find our way, Leaving behind the promises made of lies, each day. Romique
