promises
you said you'd keep my secret safe you swore on your life but you broke your promise so why doesn't your heart hold a knife? i'm scared to tell anybody the truth my tongue feels cut from my body but don't hide your feelings, they say yet they cast them aside anyway. my lips are bloodied from helping myself words are all muffled and drowned i can't keep my head above the water not ever, not now i'm supposed to be floating but why is my heart sinking down? all these people are voting for someone else around. maybe i'll make a new me destroy the old maybe they'd like the perfect person and that friendship would unfold. vents go into other rooms, we all know that but words can jump through walls become a spinning acrobat they evade my attempts to halt it's run i can't keep up anymore i'm really quite done. as i look at the rumours around me my bones are my only friends my skin is missing and bruised and my eyes are watering i don't think this betrayal will ever end.
