Private Performances
headphones on my playlist entering my ears the music flowing, like the blood in my bones from my head to the tips of my fingers and toes, and throughout my entire being replacing my heartbeat and breath I move like water letting the notes take me over I point my toes in circular motions and swirl my arms smoothly, as if on instinct. though not taking a ballet class in my life, I replicate a ballerina sweat dripping off my face. the panting inaudible. it's only after the song is done, that I catch my breath. and start again for the next song. my only audience being the stuffed animals in my room and whatever Heavens that care to watch. it's only in these moments, that I'm free to move however I want, only feeling the music and nothing else.
