Polaroids
You pick me up The sounds system is amazing And I tell you about the ghosts We walk through the hardware store Picking through paint colors And you hug me for too long Your dog doesn't like me In fact, I'm the only one he doesn't like Maybe my voice wasn't soft enough We sprint out of your house Prancing through the forest like foxes I follow you without question "Just like a dog." You show me where you planned to Hang yourself Last summer "I'm glad you didn't." We bake brownies Take Polaroids And play twister We walk out with our canvases Walking, walking to the hill Beside the lake The sun sets and we cuddle, stargazing You scratch my head Speaking of constellations Orion's crossbow doesn't come out Until April But I pretend anyway We paint some more inside Take some more Polaroids You pack me up And I leave.
