Poison ivy
In years when two generations might have come through me and my memories goes faint When the fruits of my offspring find my teenage diary and ask questions of the names mentioned In those times will I relive us So I'll tell them about a silent love that existed but never lived I will tell them about your eyes and how they wrote notes to me Leaving not the part where you watch me bubble and whine about the next best human that happened to me even though you knew I would say that about another soon Where you watched me love others so close to you and you quietly mourn a love that never lived even as it took up space in your heart that forever remained hollow. I heard the words never said and the echoes from wailing you hid behind jokes I watched you love another and you sang beautiful chorus with the others the day I was given away secretly hoping he loves me right, knowing it could have been us but our emotions were marked forbidden before it saw sunlight So I tell them,"He would always be my poison ivy"
