Points of Intersection
They bombarded me with questions, About the once-shared life we lived, That left the heart in scattered pieces, Yet you stood still, waiting until I responded. They asked me to recall our moments, I smiled softly, replied with ease. Just two words—“intersecting line” Their eyes searched deeper past the veil of speech. A line we often met in our favorite subject, The subject I held as our dearest core. We were once called the math wizard couple, Yet not all equations are solved forevermore. Two words I said—“intersecting line” Two paths that meet, then drift away, Just like our worlds that touched in passing, A union never meant to stay. Once we cherished each other’s presence, And built our dreams as though they were one, But the other half turned and found another, Like intersecting lines—met once, then gone. In time, the half that stayed moved forward, Accepting truth, they were not soulmates. Every ending bears a hidden lesson, Two lines that crossed, then turned to separate fates. P.S. We were an equation without a solution, two lines that met but could not remain.
