Pills And Potions
In tiny bottles, colored bright Lies a world of promises, day and night To heal the hurt, to calm the mind A chemical escape, from life left behind The pills march forth, in uniform line A precision army, to re-align The synapses firing, the neurons too A calculated calm, for me and you The potions swirl, in mystic hue A witch's brew, to heal anew Elixirs of life, in measured dose A fragile balance, between life and woes But in the silence, a whisper grows Of dependence born, and freedom's clothes The pills and potions, a temporary reprieve A mask for pain, a life to retrieve The search for solace, in a tiny pill A quest for peace, that's hard to fulfill For in the depths, of every troubled mind Lies a world of emotions, left behind So I'll take the pills, and drink the brew But search within, for a cure anew For in the heart, a healing lies A strength that's born, from inner self
