pills
I took 9 of my meds today One for each year of friendship you did instill. The loneliness I feel inside, I take another pill. The laughter shared, the giggles sung, So beautiful but shrill. I'll never hear that sweet sound again, I swallow another pill. Your reassuring words of kindness Kept me going until, You were cruelly, incomprehensibly ripped from this world, I devour another pill. You always had my back, When I climbed each emotional hill. I'm here all alone now so I neck another pill. I'm starting to feel calmer now, Woozy and tranquil. I dream about us together again, Down goes another pill. I cry my pain, I'll be with you soon, All will be quiet and still. I lay my head on the table, Gazing at your picture on my windowsill... I stab my fingers down my throat, Making myself ill. I long to join you but you'd hate it Always had and alway will. You'd hate to see me feel this way, All the hearts that it would kill. I need to keep you alive down here. To live, I'll find the will
