perfectly imperfect
I'm not like the poems people write. I'm not made up of pretty words that create hope wherever they go I'm real life I'm flawed, and I'm raw I don't fit together like the perfect puzzle most people expect My pieces don't slot into place neatly They're jagged, and they're broken But then again, so am I. I'm not like the stories. I don't have the type of love from people where they wrap their arms around you and tell you it's all going to be okay The type where they kiss your wounds and wipe your tears I'm not like the stories But I hope one day, Somebody will be brave enough to kiss my scars To remind me that my flaws don't make me a bad person That they make me human They make me me I'm not like the poems you write or the stories that get made into movies I'm not perfect and pretty and kind and funny Nope I'm harsh, and I'm too afraid to let anybody get close, so I pretend i don't care Yeah Because I'm not like the poems I'm not like the stories I'm perfectly imperfect
