People Lie
People lie They do all the time Like when I told my parents I ate my vegetables I fed them to the dog Like when I said I did my homework to go play I did it the next day People lie They do all the time Like when I said I was fine really just tired I didn't sleep or eat that week Like when the nice ladies talked to me that night I didn't like being strapped down to the stretcher People lie They do all the time Like when the nice nurses tried to talk to me As they made me strip down to only my underwear Like when the nice doctor upped my dose After I said they didn't work and made me sick People lie They do all the time Like when they told me they're only there to help I still jolt awake at night Like when I came back home I tried to act like nothing happened People lie They do all the time Like when she coaxed me out She loved me gently People lie They do all the time Like when she kissed me on her bed She told me she loved me Like when she said it wasn't my fault at all She was just worried about my mental health
