PEACE OVER PRETENSE
They were always there, smiling beside me, pretending to be loyal, while their words behind my back cut deeper than I let on. I stepped away, chose my peace, and let the distance speak for itself. And then… suddenly, when I stopped being the audience to their games, they return—fawning, acting like nothing ever happened. It’s ironic, almost amusing, watching them scramble for attention that they never deserved. Distance taught me something important: closeness isn’t about shiny masks or empty words. It’s about genuine hearts. And while they’re busy pretending, I thrive quietly in my peace, untouched and aware.
