Peace At Last!
My dream last night if dreams come true would make a song of the ages, a turning point in our shattered world. The clouds of attrition the winds of fear and hate, dispersed across the broken land, and there I saw a ragged army, soldiers weary of conflict and the stench of death, stood by a huge abyss. Then from the skies a trumpet blast, then two angels descending, a glorious sight! Both tall and strong, took position by opposing sides. Awestruck generals fell on their knees.. both angels, with burning eyes and stoic faces, raised a large hand, pointed at the abyss.. the quivering generals like frightened rabbits struggled to their feet. They both knew what must be done, every man there, knew it too. So in good order, the ranks made way to the edge of the dark pit. They threw their weapons gleefully as children throw stones in the burn. At last it was done a great cheer erupted the soldiers laughed and sang, The fighting is over! The angels rose like majestic birds, they went to all corners of the world the word soon spread could it be true? Tears of joy and relief were shed that day also tears of guitar and shame.
