PAWPRINTS ON MY HEART...
Some say you were just a dog, But they never knew your heart. You were the first to greet me, The last to leave my side, The one who loved me Without asking for anything. I still listen for your paws, For the little sounds that made this house alive. Now the silence is louder Than your bark ever was. I prayed. I hoped. I believed love could change the ending. But some prayers return unanswered, And some hearts leave too soon. Your bed is empty, Your toys lie untouched, Yet every corner still remembers you. So do I. People say time heals, But time cannot bring back The warmth of your fur, The comfort in your eyes, Or the happiness you gave me. If heaven has fields to run through, I hope you're racing the wind, Free from pain, Waiting until we meet again. Until then, I'll carry your pawprints— Not on the floor, But forever on my heart.
