Bruised and battered my heart was left scattered I did Spend all the love I saved Walked back home with a broken heart Lost a couple of pieces along the way I never noticed night turning to day So I swore never to swing at love Then fate brought you my way Finally someone that wanted to stay Someone that was beautiful everywhere This time you had time for me You actually wanted me We were magical until I jinxed the spell Having been trampled on by love I sought perfection Not knowing that wasn't your intention I sought a love I didn't have Instead of a love your heart would have So I became the real definition of insecure I never was settled I mean I called you night and day As if I thought you wouldn't stay As if I was sure like the rest you would leave. and I would be alone But I was foolish for that And I hurt a heart that cared I hurt a heart that lit me flares So now I'm running in darkness Without you I'm slipping away And I don't wish to stay I wish not to stay any longer Your affection made me stronger But now I'm really feeble I'm weak in heart and spirit Lost in the darkness A darkness you brought light to I wish you could take me back But that is another story
