Painting
My darling I fear I am going mad again Is this reality or just pretend I painted a picture of you and I But what sat beneath us brought fear to your eyes Your expression revealed that you were frightened What will become of us, I was not certain We sat in a boat on top of the sea But instead of water flames of fire roared under me You held me tight in a strong embrace Hell was below us but my heaven veiled it's place If I died here in your arms I would die happily for my heart is where it belongs But horror quickly came upon me The flames grew bigger and engulfed the sea Your face, your body, your voice began to fade Soon I was left alone in a boat covered with flames Screaming your name as loud as I could But oddly my voice could not make a single word Thick smoke soon concealed my eyes I woke in a panic, it was all a dream, it was all a lie What did it mean, this devilish dream Was it a meaning, a sign, or all make believe My darling, I fear I am going mad again When fantasy turns into reality yet still I knew your love was just pretend
