Pain is my middle name
If pain were a person, I'd transcend its definition, For I've journeyed through trials, a desolate mission. I strive to do right, yet still stumble and fall, Perhaps I'm an example of not fitting in at all. They say mistakes teach lessons in life's fleeting hour, I'm a flawed masterpiece, depression my bower. When progress feels near, setbacks knock me astray, I rise again, only to be brought low by dismay. A cursed existence, a chip on my shoulder I bear, Each moment of solitude only deepens despair. So I bury emotions, my sensitivity hidden deep, A monster born of pain, I struggle to keep asleep. Suffering echoes my name, an explanation unclear, Misunderstood, with no silver lining to adhere. I search for meaning, but the puzzle won't connect, I won't quit, though strength proves harder to resurrect. Recognition eludes me, for purpose is what I seek, Love overflows, yet pain remains my soul's creek. Depression, my innermost companion and foe, It feels as if it should be my middle name, bestowed.
