Pain
Pain is liquid. Liquid. Like one trapped in a glass tube. Liquid. Like mercury flowing to find the fever in you. Liquid. Like a lava lamp someone gifted you young. Liquid. Like alcohol in a spirit level showing you the right side. Liquid. Like the blood in my veins flowing and flowing. Liquid. Like mine tears, stuck between the gaps of mine heart. Liquid. Like sand in an hourglass, fated to tilt till the ends of time. Liquid. Like rice through fingers and into your favorite bowl. Liquid. Like warm warm warm sunlight upon your back. Liquid. Like vines of wisteria honeysuckle sweatpea and bougainvillea Climbing and stretching and reaching limits unknown to the human in me. Liquid. Like the ebbs and flows of a mind troubled. A mind caged. A mind broken. A mind choking on thoughts whilst hollow eyes poke through. A mind cracking and creaking and howling like the haunted halls of Satis House. A mind weeping A mind raging A mind eroding A mind cemented in grief. A mind on Death's favorite table. A mind lost. A mind found. A mind in eons of burning numbing breaking liquid pain. - M.A.
