in the company of owls today again I seated by the camphor clumps them, hidden in the leafy branches no conversation needed of course each engrossed in their own me in my insomnia and endless plotting them in their hooting and hunting at least we all are winning one in keeping the stars useful the others in the capture of crickets I must have lost myself in thought for I'm roused by beady eyes, an owl's they must have started a conversation and it came to my turn to respond and I didn't, lost in thought maybe and a messenger had to be sent to bring the question closer I think or to enquire of my silence now if you've faced a sombre owl eyes blazing like fiery embers gaze sharp as an arrow, you'd know you wouldn't question my response or better, you wouldn't live to narrate but to say the least, I lived
