our last goodbye
This is our last goodbye, a whisper in the breeze, The echoes of our laughter linger still among the trees. Memories like footprints, fading on the sand, Each step we've taken, now slips from our hand. The sun dips low, casting shadows on the past, A canvas painted with moments, too precious to last. Your eyes, a well of stories, and in them, I can see, A thousand silent promises and dreams we set free. The sky is heavy with the weight of unspoken words, As twilight falls around us, serenaded by the birds. We stand upon the threshold, where love and sorrow meet, A bittersweet reminder of the journey at our feet. If time could be a river, I’d swim against the flow, To hold you close forever, to never let you go. But life is just a season, and we must face the night, Knowing every ending leads to dawn's gentle light. So this is our last goodbye, but not the end we dread, For love, like starlight, lingers on when day has fled. In every whispered memory, in each soft, tender sigh, A piece of you will stay with me, long after we say goodbye.
