only a star.
crying,i looked out the window. the stars, bits of salt in the vastness of the sky, glimmered softly in the night. though, there was one that stood out; it felt uncanny yet right. i deemed it a savior, for it shined like the Sun, and it made all of the problems, tied in tight knots, loosen. my tears softened as they dried on my cheeks. i felt so comforted, light and fun that i forgot it is merely a star. it couldn't have any feeling, and although it was the brightest by far, it was destined to explode.it's a natural, yet cruel thing. but i didn't realise yet that clinging onto something so trivial was very bad for the brain.like a bet where you know you'll lose, but you have nothing to obtain, anyway. and then,on the very next day, it was night once again and i looked out the window to see that the star, indeed, could not feel.for it has dissapeared. and when i tell you that hurt, you best believe. although it may be my own fault, i think.
