One Regret
The nights cool breeze chills my body to the bone. It somehow makes me feel calm. My mind is always racing with the what if or what haves. The never-ending thoughts are always rushing through my mind. Yet when I glance at the moon, I am reminded of you. Memories of a more peaceful time fill my hectic mind. The memories are so divine. I wish I could go back in time, yet I know I should put the past behind. I can't help but feel regret for you were the one I was supposed to protect. You cherished and nutured me from the time I was young. I should have been there for you when the time came but I wasn't there and I feel ashamed. You were truly the best, and I'll miss you until I'm put to rest. I'll never forget you. You were more than a mother. You were my best friend.
