One Last Goodbye
Those nights you would message me, I could see the tears in each letter typed. The sobs between each one. Then you said that last goodbye and swallowed those pills. But that goodbye wasn't the last. And as soon as I saw that small red dot, tears came like flash flood rain. All you said was "Hi" but that was so much. We talked for days until you went silent. All I did was wait for that little red dot. And when it did arrive, you told me you were in pain. I helped the best I could, but then you said a true last goodbye. All the blood you lost, never seen by anyone but me. All the tears you cried, never seen by anyone but me. You fought and fought, But fell asleep. Never to wake again. May you rest in peace, Nora. You will be missed.
