Once upon a broken dream

We all want to live in a fairytale— inside a castle, with an endless stream of servants, dishes of every kind, and riches beyond the stars. We dream of loving parents, flawless beauty, and a soulmate as perfect as the characters on a movie screen. But life is not a bed of roses. Anna and Elsa carried sorrow in childhood. Ariel lost her mother too soon. Rapunzel was stolen, locked away by a witch. Snow White’s stepmother wanted her dead. Cinderella served as a slave in her own home. Even the stories we adored were stitched with grief and loss. Not everyone is destined for a happy ending— some of us may find love, others may lose it, and some may fall like Romeo and Juliet.
