" once more "
In the depths of everyday I dwell, Life slipping, fading, like a distant bell. Choices made, yet wrong they feel, Haunted by regrets that time won't heal. Mirror, mirror, tell me lies, "I'm fine," I say, but my heart cries. Heavy with pains, burdened with regret, Smiling, pretending, trying to forget. But the past, it follows, every step I take, A relentless shadow, a constant ache. I never meant for things to end this way, Desperate to change, if given just one day. Pains, regrets, screaming in my head, Thoughts racing, filling me with dread. I contemplate giving up the fight, Yet I push on, through the darkest night. Memories, I long to erase, Yet still, I crave your warm embrace. Lost in dreams, I yearn to be, But reality pulls me back, I'm wide awake, you see. So I keep breathing, day by day, Though it feels like there's nothing left to stay. I'll hold on tight, through the hurt and strife, For even in darkness, there's still life.
