It was just another day—so we thought Some worked, some played, and some even fought Some of us expected a sunny day Some others desired the rain But we were unaware of that day The census ongoing Kept our thoughts a-flowing "We just wanted to be counted", said the countrymen "We walked away from the census to keep our sheep", said the shepherds "We were just passing through the land", said the wise men But they all were unaware of that day No one knew that the course of nature Will have a significant alteration as that day's major feature But we are now aware of that day The Messiah was born Hope for mankind was reborn Humanity would experience her greatest reform And the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdom of our God For He has come All these began on Christmas day
