"Old Gold"
If I were gold, effulgent like a sun, Would I be cherished or left out to dry, Would I hold my value through days and years, Or fade like memories, lost in time, When my luster dims and tarnish takes hold, Would I be treated like relics of old, Even the finest can crumble and fold, As my corporeal form loses it's vibrancy, Would I be less as age ravages me, Or does my value lie beyond the gilded stage of life?
