Oh I tried over and over again
In the crucible of our relationship, I endeavored to persevere, To transcend the travails that beset us, to hold on to love's flickering ember. I appreciate the sacrifices you made, the efforts you undertook, Though ultimately, they proved insufficient to sustain our bond, to make it undertake. The memories of your endeavors linger, an unforgettable testament to your devotion, Yet, I am compelled to confront the painful truth: your actions, though well-intentioned, were insufficient to salvage our love's erosion. I warned you repeatedly, my words a Cassandra's cry, falling on deaf ears, As you chose to ignore the writing on the wall, to disregard the ominous signs that foretold our demise. In agony, I knelt before you, a supplicant pleading for a change of heart, But you remained intransigent, unmoved by my entreaties, as our love continued its inexorable decline. Have I not reiterated this lament, this plaintive refrain, ad infinitum? As your actions rent my heart asunder, I realized, with a dawning clarity, that I deserved better. I am a man worthy of respect, of love, of being seen and acknowledged in my entirety, Not merely a boy, a shadow of a person, relegated to the periphery of your existence.
