OF SHADOWS AND TALES
I stayed up late last night not out of insomnia or anything it just felt right and appropriate to give company to the roaming cats and the prowling mongrels of the night could no longer keep the conversation I was having with the noisy silence that has been planning to evict me so out of the house I sauntered finding myself in the deserted streets partly dark for want of streetlights I saw the shadows emerge from fringes they usually run away from me "but today, tis like they're lonely" I think but they are silent too, unspeaking their eyes, a tale of words unsaid the frowns upon their brows like lines of braille, unintelligible the sagging of their shoulders narrative more than symbols on paper so upon a rock I say and listened to tales and odes of the shadows ask not how I understood, because I did
