Ode to a Blank Page
My brain, a tangled mess of wires, Where thoughts like hamsters run in tires. I try to write a clever rhyme, But all I get is "cheese" and "time." I search for wit, for clever lines, But all I find are dusty dimes. My muse is gone, my inspiration fled, Leaving me with a blank page, instead. So here I sit, with pen in hand, Trying to make a poem grand. But all that comes are silly words, Like "fluffy kittens" and "singing birds." Oh, cruel fate, why must you mock, My feeble attempts to make a flock Of rhyming words, a soaring flight, Instead of this, a sorry sight? Perhaps tomorrow, I'll have more luck, And write a poem, not a duck. But for now, I'll just accept my fate, And hope that no one reads this, it's too late.
