Ocean
Of all the stones and creatures of the sea, You were my rock Now you're drifting further and further away Maybe it's because I'm eroding with the crash of the waves from every direction Or maybe I'm sending too many waves your way Either way, I wish I could scoop you up in a net and hold onto you until the waves stop But you've drifted so far off now, I don't know if you've been swept up by the tide of others who claim to need you Need you more than I do But that can't be We've withstood so many waves, I thought we were stuck together but now, It seems we're too broken apart I wish everything could go back to normal Two rocks, resting on the ocean floor Not a care in the world If I have to swim across the oceans just to find you and get that, I will do it a million times over I will do it We've broken apart before, but this time it seems that break is more like a chasm of deep hurts A chasm, where if you fell in, The void of pain would grow and suck others in too But together we can build a bridge Starting from each side and meet in the middle And hopefully, we can reside in our normalcy
