Ocean
Who needs a lover when I have the ocean? A place that will forever hold my heart. But the problem is, when I look at the ocean, I remember you— your deep ocean eyes, carrying a feeling I could never understand. When you left, I began to hate the ocean. Is it worth looking at something that only reminds me of you? Is it worth loving another, when all I do is think of you? The saddest part is, you were never mine, and I was never yours. So I create scenes in my mind— you and I together by the ocean, you telling me you love me. But love… love is just a metaphor, a word I will never truly experience. Love is just an echo, a sound I will never hear from you. I thought I had it once, but I was wrong. Now, when I look at the ocean, I see you in it. You may not be mine, but the ocean is. And to be honest, I’d rather look at the ocean and pretend you are mine.
