Obsessive and Compulsive
With every step, I count again, In fear that I may miss one then. I cannot stop, my mind's obsessed, My compulsions leave me feeling stressed. I wash my hands till they're sore, And organize my things once more. I check the doors and windows tight, Lest danger lurks in the dead of night. My thoughts are trapped inside my head, A prison cell with endless dread. I tell myself it's just a thought, But it's a web that can't be caught. The world outside is full of noise, But in my head, I hear its voice. The rituals, they calm my fears, But leave me with an endless list of tears. I wish it were as easy as walking away, But my mind holds me captive, day after day. OCD, the demon inside, That makes me feel like I cannot reside. But even in the midst of this storm, I know that I am not alone. With each small step and brave move, I know that I have the strength to groove. So I will face this demon with all my might, And emerge victorious in the everlasting fight. I will banish each formidable thought, And live my life on my own accord. -𝓥
