Oblivion
When life's a cruel tempest, and hope seems to wane, When burdens grow heavy, and spirits feel drained, When dreams turn to ashes, and tears start to flow, Oh, how I yearn for oblivion's soft, soothing glow. To escape from this realm of unending strife, To cast off these shackles, to end this harsh life, To shatter the chains that bind me to earth, And seek solace in silence, where silence has birth. But then in the darkness, a glimmer appears, A whisper of hope, a voice that endears, A gentle reminder that life's worth the fight, That beauty and passion still shimmer so bright. Yet as I reach out for the light's warm embrace, It fades into darkness, leaving no trace, And hope's gentle whisper is silenced once more, Leaving me stranded in sorrow's cold shore. So I'll sink into darkness, with spirit subdued, And let life's cruel tempest forever intrude, For in this desolate realm, where hope has grown weak, Oblivion's embrace is all that I seek.
