O, let it rest
My chest feels like it is made of stone, unyielding and cold. Every thought twists inside me, sharp and relentless. Tears burn behind my eyes, unshed and heavy. I cannot remember the last time my soul felt light. The walls around me pulse with every fear I hide. Memories strike like fists I cannot dodge. Loneliness sits beside me, whispering I am alone. Even the air I breathe feels thick with sorrow. My heart aches with words I cannot speak. Hope has grown fragile, like glass about to shatter. I clutch at nothing, and it slips like smoke through my fingers. Every heartbeat feels borrowed, every breath a struggle. I am tired of pretending that I am okay. Pain has worn itself into the bones I carry. I wish the weight inside me would finally soften. I long for a quiet where my soul can rest in peace. ©Shalom Lights
