Numb to the Echoes
They say it’ll be fine, just wait, just see, As if their words could stitch the seams, Of all I’ve lost, of all that’s burned, In the hollow space where I once dreamed. They speak of hope, with hollow smiles, But behind closed doors, their voices shift, Their whispers turn to daggers sharp, And every lie becomes a rift. I’ve lost it all, yet they don’t know, The depth of void that swallows whole, They tell me to just hold on tight, But I’ve grown numb inside my soul. Too tired to fight, too tired to care, Their empty comfort brings no ease, Each word, a weight upon my chest, A phantom touch that brings disease. They laugh when I’m not in the room, Talk of how I’ve changed, grown cold, But I am tired, so tired now, Of watching everything unfold. Numbness fills the space where I once felt, A shell of who I used to be, Their empty promises fall flat, As I drift further out to sea. Let them speak, let them pretend, I’m too far gone to hear their lies, For I am lost, beyond repair, And all I see are tired skies. No more comfort, no more hope, Just this weary, endless fall, For when you’ve lost everything, There’s nothing left to feel at all.
