Nothing to Claim...
I waited quiet in the crowd while you stood blind and spoke so loud Three years I built a throne of glass for eyes too dull to ever pass You looked too late, and when you turned you found a flame you'd never earned You stumbled closer dragged the past wore broken smiles you thought would last You circled near you stole my air but offered nothing u just stood and stared With hollow hands and borrowed pride you planted roots that quickly died You thought a glance would make me stay you thought a gaze would light my way But I have seen your paper crown your trembling hands your crumbling town You danced with ghosts to spite my eyes but all I saw were tired lies You flaunted ashes called them gold and thought I'd bend and break and fold You never knew the roads I crossed the storms I faced the time you lost You never saw the weight I bore you never knocked upon my door And now when silence grips your name you find you have nothing to claim No place beside me no regret no piece of me you’ll ever get I walk away no tears no sound my feet no longer touch your ground You are the dust I never breathe a chapter closed I do not grieve
