nothing more then lies
They say they’re here, they say they care, But silence hums in the empty air. Voices reach, but never land, A distant touch, an outstretched hand. They speak of love, they speak of grace, Yet I remain in this hollow space. A crowd of shadows, faces blurred, Their words are songs, but none are heard. They call my name, they ask my pain, But can they hear when I refrain? Their promises, a whispered thread, Yet still, I wander, alone, instead. For solitude is not of place, But the hollow in my heart's embrace. The world surrounds, but I can’t see— Their presence is not enough for me. I long for more than empty sound, For silence that lets me be found. Not just a voice, but a steady hand— A soul that truly understands. They say they’re here, and yet they’re not— A presence felt, but still forgot. I wait, I hope, I search the sky, And wonder if I’ll ever find why.
