NOT MEANT TO BE
We tried hard to mend our fractured bond Hand in hand, we merged our worlds beyond Attention paid tirelessly, no gap remained To no avail, the expected bloom refrained Failing love that kept us grounded for years Selfishness crept in, silencing whispers of affection Love grew mute, a silent echo of what we'd built Pride dismantled, leaving shards of cherished memories Was our love an exhibit? Admired but never claimed A museum, a place where people show up but don't stay long Now I hesitate to love anew, fearing echoes of what decayed They say God matches hearts, weren't ours aligned? You gave me life, now I mourn the man I once designed Neither your fault nor mine, we drifted far apart Indeed we plan, but God's will charted our love's end.
