Not loud enough
I scream for help but not too loud, it disappears inside the crowd, my voice gets lost, it fades to grey, and no one hears what I don’t say. I look alright, I play my part, but there’s a storm inside my heart, it hits so hard, it won’t let go, but still I never let it show. I try to speak, it sticks in me, like I forgot how words should be, so everything I feel inside just gets more heavy when I hide. I laugh so people don’t ask why, I say “I’m fine” and pass them by, but truth is sitting in my chest, a tired mind that won’t get rest. And even when I feel this low, there’s still a small light that won’t go, it flickers soft, it won’t die out, even when I’m full of doubt.
