Not "hurt"
Not "hurt," not "hurt," a mere whisper of pain, A gentle word that can't contain The depths of agony, the weight of strife, That tore through my soul, but not my life. It didn't hurt me, not in that way, It eviscerated, left in disarray, Destroyed my spirit, shattered my heart, Left me crippled, torn apart. Agonized, traumatized, those are the scars, Cut deep within, like jagged stars. But still I rise, from the depths so low, It didn't "hurt," but yes, I know. I bear the wounds, invisible, unseen, Yet they've shaped me, from what I have been. So not just "hurt," it was so much more, A storm that ravaged to my core.
