Not Forever
I might not have the money now, To wear the things I dream about, The shiny clothes my colleagues wear, Or walk the streets without a care. I might wear clothes that show their age, Tattered, worn, a simple stage, Where laughter echoes, yet I frown, Wondering when it’ll all turn around. Sometimes I feel the weight of it all, As life makes me stumble, makes me fall, The sadness creeps into my soul, A reminder that I'm far from whole. But deep within, I know it’s true, This struggle isn’t meant to glue Me to this moment, locked in time, For brighter days are yet to climb. So though I might not wear the best, And in these rags, I feel distressed, I know this is not how it will stay The clouds will part, and light will play. For this is not my final song, My dreams are fierce, my heart is strong. I trust that this too shall pass, And in time, I’ll shine like glass. I might not have it all today, But in my heart, I’ll find my way, For I know this is not my end I’ll rise again, I’ll surely transcend. Dena 🌹
