Not anymore, but I cared
He impacted my life so much that he tattooed his name on my skin, He engraved his random singing like it became melodies to my ears, He encouraged me to be the person I want to be, He helped me be the person he sees, He encouraged me step by step to overcome my fears, He became a part of me and im scared, "Its normal" as people say but they don't understand, One day he will knock on my door and tell me, "Not anymore, but I cared" , this friendship we had was all but a dare, Id watch my phone on the nightstand, And hope he will send a message, I will hope to hear his voice, If he had to make a decision id hope I'm his choice, Not as a lover, but as a friend, Most people is fake in this world but he didn't pretend, He became a part of me, id look forward to the pats on my head, Id dread for the day he says, "Not anymore, but I cared"
