Not A Question Of Love
(To My Love) I feel my love lacking in every way. Will I have loved you enough at the end of this day? Can I keep you safe and free from harm's way? Have I said enough or had too much to say? I've done all I could to live a good life. And you have been the most wonderful wife. Our kids are gone now and we are alone. But that doesn't mean we are lonely alone. We have each other and time to be free. It is a wonderful feeling with just you and me. But I have a question, if you will allow. Have I honored enough our sacred vow? (It's a helluva' question since It's been fifty years now.) But still, It feels like I failed you some how. "To have and to hold until death do us part." These words I still cherish with all of my heart. As our love has grown, I know it will grow, and we'll be together wherever we go. I thank God daily for you in my life, and that he saw fit to make you my wife. Pogo
