not a poem. #2 - Maybe

maybe if i had been born a boy you would give me your love and attention. maybe if i had been born a boy, you would be proud to call me your kid. maybe if i had been born a boy, you would actually try to be there for me. maybe if my mom had been someone else, you wouldn't have treated her so harshly. maybe if my mom had been someone else, you wouldn't have broken up the family. perhaps i was just born of the cursed sex, afterall. a daughter fated to yearn your love watching you give it to other kids who aren't even yours. a daughter fater to yearn for your care watching you give it to your new kid. a boy. maybe that's where i went wrong maybe a girl is not what you wanted or maybe you just didn't want me no matter in what form i come to you.
